Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a first point of contact for visitors to the Career Services Center. Greet and warmly welcome students, staff, alumni, community members, and employers and provide relevant department information to meet their needs.

  • Greet and welcome students, staff, alumni, community members, and employers to the center and provide department information in-person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Assist students with utilizing Career Services digital tools including electronic job board, career exploration software, resume software, interview software, and Career Services Blackboard.
  • Distribute service request forms to appropriate personnel and support staff with appointment check-ins.
  • Perform data-entry using various software and applications including COD Work Tools, Web Forms, Microsoft Office, and social media.
  • Review employer registrations and job postings in electronic job board and approve submissions in accordance with recruitment policies and guidelines.
  • Respond to employer inquiries regarding registration status and send outreach emails to address missing information or resolve registration and account issues.
  • Monitor department email inboxes and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Monitor student use of the Career Services lab by tracking reservations, ensuring space availability, and supporting appropriate use of the environment.
  • Review the lab after student usage to ensure the room is reset, supplies are stocked, and department laptops are returned and prepared for the next reservation.
  • Represent and assist Career Services Center during department programs, classroom presentations, and campus-wide events.
  • Serve as secondary supervisor to student workers in absence of coordinator and manager.
  • Assist with experiential learning program clerical tasks including processing forms and sending correspondence as directed by Program Manager.
  • Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • High School diploma required.
      • Associate degree and coursework in computer office technology preferred.
    • Experience
      • Minimum of at least 1 year of related office experience serving the general public.
      • Experience working with the public and a sensitivity for assisting a diverse population with varying needs.


    Working Conditions:

  • Office environment, front counter, with high level of visibility.
  • This position requires a background check.


  • Part-Time Work Schedule: M-Thursday 11am-5pm and Friday 11am-4pm

    We do not offer visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

    Hiring Range:
    4 Hourly Starting salary beginning at $17.59/hourly, based on education and experience
