The Student Testing Center at CU Boulder encourages applications for the Student Testing Center Coordinator position! Under the direction of the Assistant Director for the Student Testing Center, this role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Student Testing Center. This includes coordinating exams, arranging for the alternate format of exams, communication with faculty and students, as well as supervising student employees. This unit requires a highly collaborative relationship with the Disability Services office and faculty, staff, and administration in Undergraduate Education and the Graduate School under Academic Affairs.

The Student Testing Center provides a professional, equitable and safe space for eligible students to complete their exams. Our testing spaces were designed for flexibility and can be adapted to meet a variety of needs and accommodations.


What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


Testing Services Operations
  • Responsible for the day-to-day proctoring duty implementation of the Student Testing Center (STC).
  • Responsible for high-volume communications with faculty regarding all testing issues, including pick-up, delivery, formatting, materials that go with the test, specific instructions for test administration, testing procedures, and general testing coordination.
  • Prepare and organize tests for individual students, including the delivery and pick-up of tests across campus as needed.
  • Reception desk lead; includes direct accountability for opening and closing procedures for the office.
  • Communicate with the Assistant Director on policy and procedure updates, student proctor personnel concerns, test administration issues, and system concerns.
  • Assist in scheduling exams in the database and recording and maintaining all student exam interactions in the database.
  • Check students in for tests, including verifying student identity via photo ID, seating students, and ensuring students have the appropriate exam and exam materials.
  • Ensure consistency of departmental policies, internal forms, and database management.
  • Work directly with IT personnel to ensure STC test computers are updated, assistive technology and software is fully functional for students prior to test administration.
  • Collaborate with Disability Services Access Coordinators to ensure testing accommodations are implemented.
  • Monitor office email accounts and respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Request orders and maintain supplies within the office.
  • Provide strong customer service skills for high-volume communications including answering phones, responding to emails, handling faculty and student inquiries as they arise.

Supervision
  • Supervises all staff who perform functions in support of STC operations, including on-call, temporary, and student staff. This position is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising student employees.

Other Duties
  • Complete additional projects as assigned by the Student Testing Center Assistant Director or the Director of Disability Services.
  • Assist with accommodation implementation processes for Disability Services at peak times of year.


What You Should Know


This is an onsite 9-month term position aligning with the academic calendar, with a work break over the summer months. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 12:30-9:30 pm, with the ability to work some daytime and weekends to fulfill programming needs.


What We Can Offer

  • The annual salary for this position is $52,000 (prorated at $39,000 for the 9-month appointment).

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 years of related work experience.

  • Strong computer skills, including working with databases, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality in previous positions.
  • Strong mathematical problem-solving skills, including the ability to calculate precise exam end times based on varying accommodation factors and to coordinate complex seating arrangements that prevent exam overlap and ensure accommodation compliance.
