Job Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner provides professional HR guidance and consultation for assigned departments.
The position serves as a skilled, experienced, human resource consultant performing professional, human resource duties. Responsible for resolving complex human resource issues. Plans and carries out work independently and with minimum supervision, utilizing knowledge of laws, policies, and regulations. Responsible for prioritizing and managing issues within designated area of responsibility. Maintain and ensure a confidential environment at all times.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervisory Role
Supervise and mentor one HR Talent Acquisition Specialist.
Job Fairs
Attend Job Fairs. As needed, assist with job fair announcements, compile job fair supplies, send notifications to department managers to request attendance.
Relationship Building
Build strong relationships with assigned departments to resolve department needs and strategically plan for their future. Advises departments regarding their strategic processes to alight with the college, schools, and departments with HR/USG policies and processes.
Employee Relations
Notify AU EEO office of all employee related issues. Provide AU EEO office with detailed information as needed.
Recruitment
Develop recruitment strategies for vacant positions. Review and post applicable job openings. Assist assigned department(s) with managing applicant pool by reviewing, screening, and evaluating applicants. Verify is applicants are eligible for hire, rehire, or transfer. Complete salary calculations to assist with determining a salary range within established guidelines. Discuss suggested salary and justification with department. Notify Director, Talent Acquisition Services of any department request for over the salary range provided and/or midpoint. Remove job postings when position has been accepted. Generate offer letters. Notify assigned HR Talent Acquisition Specialist to begin pre-employment screening.
Additional Duties
All other duties as assigned and essential to provide top level service to assigned departments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three years' professional HR experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university. PHR, SPHR, SHRM or other relevant certification.

Knowledge of Employee Relations, Recruitment and Employment and Position Classification and Compensation
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Grade: B12
Salary Minimum: $62,300/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
