Job Description Summary
The Quaker Fellow in Equipment Operations is a one year opportunity and reports to the Director of Equipment Operations. This position will assist in all areas of the daily equipment operations for the varsity athletic programs and department as a whole. These tasks include assisting with gear issuance, equipment maintenance, practice and gameday needs, travel needs, daily laundry duties, organization, receiving, inventory, upkeep of equipment and laundry facilities, and student staff supervision.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Acts as a primary contact for select varsity athletic programs and their day-to-day equipment operations needs
    • Provides oversight and direct management of the equipment room and core duties such as laundry operations, gear issuance, receiving orders, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and gameday/travel preparations
    • Manages temporary staff, interns, and work study students to ensure proper equipment standards and practices are being utilized, as well as ensuring all equipment needs are being met
    • Assists in the planning and forecasting of apparel and equipment orders, budgeting, and other projects in tandem with the Director of Equipment Operations and coaches
  • Leads a collaborative effort of staffing to provide adequate coverage in scheduling and delegating tasks amongst temporary staff, interns, and students
  • Assists Equipment Operations team by providing feedback in regular meetings to maintain equipment room standards and prepare for upcoming projects and tasks
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Equipment Operations


Qualifications

0-2 years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience working with college athletics or professional sports department preferred; knowledge of NCAA regulations a plus; excellent customer service skills; strong organizational skills; ability to lift 25 lbs or more.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
