Primary Purpose of Organization Unit:
The mission of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke's Facilities Maintenance Department (comprised of Housekeeping, Grounds, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Locksmith, Painting and Motor Pool) is to provide support services to the University Community. The collective department of the Facilities Maintenance Department will strive to provide an effective academic environment. We believe that the means to personalized education is inherent in the physical spaces we provide for learning. Some of the characteristics that create an atmosphere which facilitates campus and community activities are: Cleanliness, attractiveness, comfort, accessibility, safety and systematically arranged spaces. The ultimate Goal of the Physical Plant will be to condition our facilities, Through inspection and audit programs, to design out new and renovated facilities for low cost life cycle maintenance, to assign our highest priorities to the most serious conditions and utilize all funding sources as good stewards.

Primary Purpose of Position:
Responsible for all access related maintenance to all locking devices. This includes but is not limited to mechanical locks, electronic card access equipment, code access equipment, door closures, ADA door operators and pressure switch operated doors. Performs various tasks involving re-keying locks, keying and installing cores, cutting and duplicating keys and utilizing computer software for electronic access control.



Job Description:
This position is an on-call position. Employees hired in this position are required to be available as designated for on-call hours and to report back to the campus as required to respond to emergency callback situations.

80% Performs skilled work in the installation and repair of various types of access control equipment using a work system.

15% Work with various contractors and vendors as it relates to facility renovations, new construction, equipment replacements.

5% All other duties assigned by Supervisor and Facilities Management Senior Leadership.



Management Preference:
10 - 15 years of directly related experience

Lic or Certifications Required by Statute or Regulation: Valid Drivers License
