What We're Looking For

The Associate Director/Director of Stewardship supports Baylor University's donor stewardship strategy by implementing and advancing meaningful recognition, engagement, and stewardship efforts for major and principal gift donors. Reporting to the Managing Director of Stewardship, this role collaborates closely with Development Officers, Advancement leadership, and campus partners to execute customized stewardship plans, ensure adherence to best practices and processes, and contribute to a cohesive, donor-centered giving experience. The position serves as a trusted advisor and operational partner throughout the stewardship phase of the donor cycle.

A bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience are required. Five years of relevant experience is preferred.

Must be able to travel outside of the state of Texas.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Implement and advance stewardship strategies established by the Managing Director of Stewardship for major and principal gift donors
  • Contribute creative ideation and execution support for customized stewardship plans tailored to donor intent, campaign priorities, and institutional goals
  • Develop and coordinate strategic stewardship touches for select high-level donors, donor families, and special initiatives
  • Serve as a consultative resource to Development Officers and Advancement leadership, advising on stewardship approaches, timing, and best practices to support fundraising success
  • Partner with colleagues across Advancement to ensure stewardship efforts align with university policies, donor intent, and institutional priorities
  • Assist in the development, management, and execution of naming opportunities for facilities, spaces, and programs, operating within frameworks and processes overseen by the Managing Director of Stewardship
  • Collaborate with Facilities, academic and administrative departments, and Advancement partners to outline naming opportunities and associated recognition elements
  • Support documentation, coordination, and internal approvals related to naming opportunities in accordance with university policies
  • Coordinate recognition execution, including production, installation, donor notification, and donor viewing experiences, in alignment with recognition standards
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to naming opportunities and associated stewardship activity within Advancement systems
  • Understand, maintain, and utilize stewardship-related data and records across Advancement systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Support documentation and tracking related to recognition, naming opportunities, and stewardship activities
  • Maintain familiarity with stewardship processes and workflows to provide continuity and operational support as needed
  • Serve as a trained back-up resource for acknowledgment processes when primary coverage is unavailable
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Advancement and the broader university to promote a coordinated and cohesive donor experience
  • Partner with Development Officers, Annual Giving, Gift Processing, Advancement Communications, and other Advancement teams to align stewardship efforts with fundraising, solicitation, engagement, and recognition strategies
  • Maintain regular collaboration with Annual Giving, Gift Processing, and other Advancement partners to support planning, communication, and execution of stewardship activities
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
