Job Summary

This position is an essential part of a constructive and collaborative recruitment team that shares the responsibility of meeting the University's strategic enrollment goals and enrolling students that echo Augusta University's strategic plan. This position will focus on increasing enrollment in undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates in the College of Education. This individual will prioritize recruiting for low enrolled programs based on annual data; assist in the recruitment of students in the College of Education; plan and assess strategic recruitment and yield activities of students pursuing COE degrees and certificates by exercising and continually developing a strong understanding of general market characteristics and trends related to recruitment; advise prospective students and their families in their college search process and their transition from high schools, 2-year institutions, other 4-year institutions or as graduate students to Augusta University by providing information and assistance on the admissions and financial aid processes, academic programs, campus visitation, and housing; build relationships with and serve as a contact for high school and independent counselors as well 2-year college advisors.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Recruitment Operations (on and off campus): Planning, executing, and assessing all recruitment operations (on and off campus) necessary to meet recruitment and enrollment goals for students in programs offered by the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD). Traveling to high schools and community colleges and attending college fairs, college nights, receptions, and other programs in this region to recruit prospective students interested in COEHD programs.
Outreach and Netwok Building: Conducting extensive outreach and relationship and conversation-building activities (via in-person communication, phone, e-mail, written correspondence, and social media) with prospective students and their families throughout the recruitment funnel. Developing and strengthening ties with high school counselors, independent counselors, community college counselors, alumni, and other key influencers in the recruitment process. Develops a network of alumni by identifying and training successful alumni willing to help recruit students including coordinating the COEHD Ambassador's activities. Collaborating with specific campus and state constituents as well as school districts to assist prospective students in enrolling in the COEHD. REPORTS: Submitting program management reports of recruitment and prospective student activity to the Dean and COEHD Leadership Team throughout the recruitment cycle. STUDENT SUPPORT: Welcomes prospective students by providing guidance and coaching during the application process; arranging and conducting campus tours; and conducting follow-up activities such as letter writing and phone-calling and texting campaigns. KNOWLDEGE BUILDING: Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in student counseling, communications, education, business or public relations, marketing, or other related field from an accredited college or university with experience in a university setting.

Valid Driver's License is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference given to candidates having worked in K-12 education, college recruitment, counseling, sales, marketing, public relations, communications or education.

KNOWLEDGE

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking, oral presentation, record keeping, problem-solving and organizational skills.

ABILITIES

Ability to travel and cover travel costs with reimbursement occurring after the fact.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.

Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to all.

Ability to work a varied schedule with flexible hours and have reliable means of transportation.

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.

If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.

For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
