Job Summary


Residence Life at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Community Resource Manager! This role is a full-time, 12-month, live-on position with educational, leadership, and administrative responsibilities. The primary purpose of this position is to provide primary support to families, post-docs, and other non-student communities who reside in Graduate and Family Housing. This person will be a bridge serving to connect residents to the Boulder community and to support the above communities in navigating transitions into and out of the Graduate and Family Housing community. Additionally, this role will lead programmatic efforts to support families and partners.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


Community and Leadership Development
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate programming designed to support families and other non-student community members.
  • Promote an inclusive residential environment that supports the campus IDEA plan.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate & Family Housing team to share family-oriented and community events for publication in the weekly Graduate and Family newsletter.
  • Partner with Off-Campus and Neighborhood Relations to support residents as they transition out of the community.
  • Partner with the Sustainability Program Manager on Community Gardens and community sustainability efforts.
  • Coordinate and implement the Graduate and Family Housing resident extension process, including requests and follow-up.

Student Supervision
  • Ensure staff demonstrate and support a comprehensive understanding of their role and responsibilities in community building, student learning, development, leadership, and the vision of residence life and the division of student life.
  • Collaborate with appropriate campus partners to provide training to ensure staff have an understanding of their role as campus security authorities.
  • Coach, mentor, supervise, and develop staff to become effective student leaders and employees, and conduct all performance reviews and coaching sessions as appropriate.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, and training processes for student and professional staff and actively seek opportunities for inclusive practice in all facets of human resource development.
  • Facilitate Residence Life communication efforts across all community staff positions.

Student Conduct and Staff Referrals
  • Serve as a student conduct hearing officer for departmental and university-level violations and pursue opportunities for student learning within community impact.
  • Interpret and enforce graduate and family housing and university policy and regulations, and seek proactive approaches to communicating with students.
  • Use Maxient database for student conduct, crisis, and students of concern.
  • Serve as a referral agent to the Leadership Team and Behavioral Intervention team when an employee or affiliate incident takes place with a Graduate and Family Housing resident.
  • Serve as primary contact when an incident related to a graduate and family housing minor or other vulnerable community member takes place and refer to appropriate university offices.

Operations and Administration
  • Maintain regular interaction with facilities, environmental services, dining, occupancy management, and other key university partners.
  • Provide recommendations and insights on upkeep and maintenance for playgrounds, laundry rooms, and other high-traffic areas used by family populations.
  • Orient new residents to lease, housing policies, and community resources.
  • Oversee the safety and security of a residential environment.
  • Coordinate processes such as community move-in, safety checks, damage billing, and move-out.
  • Fiduciary over community budgets.
  • Support the management and operation of the community center.

Emergency Response
  • Serve in an on-call rotation for 10,000+ residents and provide crisis management assistance and follow up.
  • Identify students of concern in the community and facilitate connection with university resources as appropriate.
  • Uphold all departmental and university crisis response policies and procedures.

External Relations
  • Serve as a good steward and representative of Residence Life on university committees and task forces.
  • Partner proactively with student affairs and university offices to support the needs of students.
  • Assist with student retention and persistence efforts.


What You Should Know


The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, plus regular evening and weekend commitments. A flexible work schedule may be available. This position serves in an emergency on-call rotation that requires occasional physical response to campus on nights and weekends.


What We Can Offer

  • The salary for this position is $50,000.

What We Require

  • Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • 1+ year of direct professional experience working with college students.
