Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Psychological Science is a large and dynamic department in the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Department has more than 50 full-time and many part-time faculty supporting a major and minor in psychology, including a fully online undergraduate program. In the Department of Psychological Science, our accomplished faculty guide students in the study of behavior and mental processes through a comprehensive program that promotes scientific thinking and cultivates transferable skills that lead to meaningful careers. Our psychology majors gain valuable hands-on experiences and skill-building opportunities across the curriculum by engaging in high-impact practices such as study abroad programs, internships, peer mentoring, and research experiences. Committed to rigorous scholarly activity and evidence-based teaching, we develop students as global citizens, competent interns, peer educators, skilled researchers, and confident leaders who are well-prepared for the next stages of their personal and professional journeys. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Psychology in the Department of Psychological Science with a preferred start date of August 2026. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.

Lecturers will be expected to do the following:
  • Teach courses required in the psychology major, such as introduction to general psychology, careers in psychology, research methods, statistics, and/or senior seminar.
  • Teach courses within one of the Areas in the KSU psychology major, including the Diversity Area, Personality and Social Area, Biological Bases Area, Health Area, or Learning and Cognition Area.
  • The standard teaching load is 12-15 credit hours (i.e., 4 or 5 courses) per semester.
  • Teach courses of variable sizes and modalities, including large class sizes.
  • Engage in service to the department, college, and/or university.
  • A strong commitment to undergraduate education and mentorship is essential.
  • Attend departmental faculty meetings and complete all mandatory university trainings.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Psychology or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the university level.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of promoting student success.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses in introduction to general psychology, careers in psychology, research methods, statistics, and/or senior seminar.
  • Experience teaching courses in one of the Areas within the KSU psychology major, including the Diversity Area, Personality and Social Area, Biological Bases Area, Health Area, or Learning and Cognition Area.
  • Experience teaching courses of variable modalities and class sizes, including large class sizes.
  • Demonstrated excellence in course design and delivery.
  • Evidence of effective mentorship of university level students.
