Job Summary
Our lab is interested in improving healthy aging with nutritional approaches using mice as a pre-clinical model for discovery. In particular, we are investigating the benefits of time-restricted feeding and calorie restriction in improving metabolic disease in a mouse model of diet-induced obesity. We are seeking a conscientious, detail-oriented, motivated and enthusiastic research assistant scientist to join our team. You will be provided with technical and scientific training on-the-job in a friendly and collaborative environment.
Project Duration:Up to 3 years, 10-15 hours per week
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the daily care of animals.2. Assist lab personnel with the research procedures and techniques.3. Sample processing.4. Lab maintenance and support.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferences
- Students majoring in a Medical or Biological Sciences related subject are preferred.
- Students must be willing to work with mice.
- Students must be punctual, meticulous and rigorous in completing assigned tasks.
- Prior experience, background or interests in any of the following areas are also beneficial: Nutrition; Aging; Metabolism; Circadian Clock.
- The ability to work well as a team member with effective communication skills is essential.
