In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.
Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $65,000.00 Annually
Maximum $75,000.00 Annually
Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Student Affairs provides high level support to the COMP-Northwest Office of Student Affairs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities, or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively and constructively with educational and clinical professionals, in written and oral settings.
- Broad, current familiarity with the issues, trends, terminology, regulatory policies, and changing environment operative within the higher education student affairs community.
- Experience in event planning and management. Must be detail oriented, with strong organizational skills. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible in job assignments and work hours.
- Demonstrated abilities to facilitate meetings, manage projects, meet deadlines, negotiate complex agreements and understandings, and in other ways guide the workflow of peers.
- Ability to effectively manage events budgets and meet budget expectations, compose non-routine correspondence on own initiative, and coordinate, prioritize and lead projects and meetings. Must be able to effectively delegate/assign tasks as well as monitor and evaluate both performance and outcomes using a continued quality improvement process for events and program.
- Excellent computer skills necessary in order to set up document formats in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to seek out and adapt to new technologies relevant to the position. Skill with scanner, copier, printer, telephone operation, and the ability to type at 55 words per minute.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the position.
- Experience: Minimum of five years in Student Affairs experience at a large institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Masters degree in education
