Job Summary:
Are you passionate about fostering an inclusive environment and empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals? We're looking for a dedicated Accessibility Specialist to join our team and provide vital support to our campus community.

In this role, you'll work directly with individuals with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Your key responsibilities will include conducting disability eligibility analyses, providing valuable referrals, approving reasonable accommodations, and connecting individuals with the services they need to thrive academically and personally. You'll also play a crucial part in supporting the Director of OAR, contributing to functions that enhance the enrollment, persistence, and retention of students with disabilities.

This is a casual position, working up to 10 hours per week. We're ideally seeking someone with availability to work evenings and weekends, and who can start on August 1, 2025.

Job Duties:
Reporting Relationship
  • Reports to the Director, Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR)

Work Setting/Schedule
  • This is a remote position
  • This is a casual position working up to 10 hours per week.
  • Preferred availability to work evening and weekends.
  • Ideal candidate will be available to begin work August 1, 2025

What You Will Do:
  • Disability and Accessibility Services: Conducts disability eligibility analysis, provides referrals, approves reasonable accommodations, supports student needs related to executive functioning and connects individuals with services and technology to support their personal and/or academic goals.
  • Non Essential Functions: The job description's listed responsibilities and tasks are not exhaustive, additional non-essential tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.


What You Will Bring:
Required:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Professional Work Experience: Two or more years working with students with documented disabilities at the high school or college level
  • Knowledge Areas and Skills: Knowledge and understanding of federal and state laws and regulations regarding nondiscrimination of individuals with disabilities. Ability to assess and interpret individual student needs and to make appropriate referrals to internal and external sources. Ability to initiate and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner


Preferred, but not Required:
  • Education: Masters Degree
  • Knowledge Areas and Skills: Knowledge and understanding of federal and state laws and regulations regarding nondiscrimination of individuals with disabilities; Experience reviewing medical documentation; Ability to assess and interpret individual student needs and to make appropriate referrals to internal and external sources; Effective collaboration with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information; Ability to initiate and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
