College/Department Information

Training Future Leaders in Anesthesiology & Perioperative Patient Care. In our long history as an academic anesthesia department, The Medical College of Georgia's Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine has established clerkships, a pain fellowship, and an anesthesiology critical care fellowship. A joint emergency medicine/anesthesiology critical care fellowship started in 2019, and we welcomed our first pediatric anesthesiology fellow in 2020. Our anesthesiology residency program provides comprehensive training in perioperative patient care, pain management and critical care medicine. We pride ourselves in training expert clinicians who are independent and confident when they graduate from our program. Our goal is to provide outstanding care to our patients by integrating education, evidence-based medicine, and research in daily patient care. Our board-certified faculty paired with the school's high-tech simulation lab to provide an immersive learning experience. We believe in encouraging open feedback, new ideas, and innovations that lead to efficient clinical care and build strong relationships with our faculty and staff.

Job Summary

Provide administrative support for the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology (Faculty, CRNA's, and rotating Residents/Fellows/Medical Students). Provide back-up support to the department's Front Office staff. A team who facilitates services for 30+ APP's, 30+ Physicians.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

Administrative Support
Provide Administrative support for 8 current faculty soon to be 9 within the Division of Pediatric Anesthesia, 10 APP's, 1 Fellow and rotating Residents/Medical Students. Provide back-up support to the department's Front Office staff. A team who facilitates services for 30+ APP's, 30+ Physicians. Handle routine correspondence related to patient care, teaching and research; compose routine letters, memos, and reports; keep electronic files and backup of documents maintaining a well-organized filing system; update faculty CV provide routine updates regarding publications, presentations, etc. for faculty database insuring all faculty records are kept current; maintain calendar for section faculty and mid-level members to include scheduling monthly section meeting, committee appointments, teaching, etc.; attend section meeting and maintain meeting minutes; distribute mail and other information such as policies and procedures, sched-ules, etc.; track CME requirements/ prepare travel authorization forms.

Office Liaison
Serve as office liaison when coordinating business on behalf of department for all things telecommunications; facilities; & select information technology correspondence.

Procurement
Procurement activities for the Division of Pediatric Anesthesia via PeopleSoft. Prepare Medical Administrative Services Reports for the CHOG Clinical Service Chief, Anesthesia informaticist, and Clerkship Director. Provide support to Department Assistant Property Control Officer.

Billing
Daily reconciliation & facilitation of Anesthesia Billing for Pediatric and Obstetrics & Gynecology Anesthesia practice. Provide back-up billing support to other areas of practice.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible office support experience.
OR
Associates degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities



Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

knowledge of modern office equipment

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.

Attentive, detail oriented, and team oriented.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday

Salary Range: $16.54-$19.85 hourly.

Pay Band: B3

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.

Recruitment Period: Until Filled.

Conditions of Employment
