Position Summary
Reporting to the Head Coach, Men €™s Basketball, the Strength and Conditioning Coach supports the men €™s basketball program by designing and implementing strength & conditioning protocols to include nutrition, rehabilitation, and injury prevention, and serves as a staff member of the program.
The position requires frequent travel, as well as evening and weekend hours.
Essential Functions
- Designs, implements, and evaluates sport-specific speed, strength, and conditioning for the men €™s basketball program.
- Analyzes nutritional/behavioral habits of student-athletes and educates them on healthy/high-performance choices.
- Individualizes nutrition programs for team members.
- Enters data of strength, speed, and conditioning test results, athlete nutritional analyses, and other data as necessary.
- Communicates with the Head Coach and sports medicine staff regarding physical training issues and injury limitations of student-athletes.
- Instructs proper techniques for strength & conditioning.
- Ensures safe operation and professional supervision of the strength & conditioning facility.
- Anticipates potential risks of injury and takes measures to reduce injury.
- Assists the athletic training staff in rehabilitation and injury prevention as needed.
- Assists with recruiting prospective student-athletes as defined by NCAA policy.
- Assists with the production of educational materials/ content for student-athletes and recruits.
- Communicates and collaborates with the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Sports Performance on scheduling training sessions in the Walsh Training Center.
- Complies with all NCAA, Atlantic 10, Patriot League, and University rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health/Physical Education, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years' experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification, or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCC) certification.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Excellent computer skills.
- High-level organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and motivation in student-athletes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven success in all areas of strength and conditioning programming, Olympic style, lifts, plyometrics, speed development, conditioning, and flexibility.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education
Preferred Qualifications
- Further certification within USAW, Precision Nutrition, PICP, FRC, and FMS is strongly encouraged.
- Experience with an NCAA Division I basketball program.
Minimum Starting Salary: $70,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $80,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
