Program Coordinator for Medical Lab Sciences Search #67970 (Open Rank)

Georgia Southern University

Waters College of Health Professions/Department of Clinical Sciences

The Department of Clinical Sciences in the Water's College of Health Professions invites applications and nominations for the position of Medical Lab Sciences Program Coordinator. Rank will be determined based on candidate qualifications.
Founded in 1906, Georgia Southern University is a Carnegie Doctoral/R2 institution focusing on public-impact research, serving over 25,500 students on three beautiful campuses in Statesboro, Savannah, and Hinesville, and via a growing online program. Through our degree offerings at the associate's, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, Georgia Southern offers a distinctive combination of community collaboration, world-class scholarship, innovative teaching, and hands-on learning opportunities.

Within this setting, the program is housed on the Armstrong campus in Savannah and offers four undergraduate tracks. The traditional Medical Laboratory Science degree program track is well-suited to entering freshmen, transfer students, and students with a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related science field. In addition to the traditional track, Georgia Southern offers three online degree-completion options for students. The Medical Laboratory Science Online South Carolina Fast-Track is available to South Carolina residents who have completed a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field. The Medical Laboratory Science Post Baccalaureate Online Fast-Track is available to students who have completed a bachelor of science degree in biology or chemistry and are currently employed by an approved hospital laboratory. Additionally, the online Career-Ladder track enables certified medical laboratory technicians (MLT) to advance their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science.

As a part of a large department, the Medical Laboratory Science program supports the mission of the Waters College of Health Professions to prepare future health professionals through academic excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration while advancing knowledge through scholarship and serving culturally diverse communities.
