Position Summary:
This position provides administrative support to the Program Coordinators of the Health Career Programs at CT State Manchester Campus: Dental Assistant, Health and Exercise Science, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Radiation Therapy, Radiology, Respiratory Care and Surgical Technology to maintain external accreditation by supporting programs via onboarding students, processing background checks, and maintaining a five-year compilation of student records. Furthermore, this position conducts and analyzes research, develops statistical reports, coordinates information requests, and manages administrative functions in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, dynamic environment.

Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

This role is accountable for contributing to the academic, career, personal and social success of the College's students through effective performance in these essential functional areas:

  • Collaborate with Health Careers Program Coordinators to enable each program to meet its goals and programmatic outcomes based on individual accreditation standards.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and follows through on issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records for all students in the health career programs specific to but not limited to onboarding, dosimeters, background checks, immunization tracking, drug testing.
  • Manage a master calendar of all systemwide programmatic critical dates for specialized accreditation, program coordinators and the CT State academic Dean of Nursing and Health Careers.
  • Collaborate with CT State Select Admissions Department and individual program coordinators to ensure a student-centered enrollment process.

In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings.  These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Minimum Qualifications:
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.). 

Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following:

  • Well organized, flexible and enjoys the administrative challenges of supporting diverse persons, groups, populations and programs,
  • The ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality,
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound decision-making ability and attention to detail with a tolerance for working on multiple projects simultaneously,
  • Demonstrated commitment to completion of projects on a timely basis,

These skills and abilities typically are acquired through a combination of education, training and experience which would include a Bachelor's degree in an appropriately related field together with up to 3 years of related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with identified healthcare programs: Dental Assisting, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Radiation Therapy, Radiography, Surgical Technology and the associated external accreditation bodies.
  • Experience facilitating the coordination of specialized events inclusive of scheduling, hospitality, technology, gathering and distribution of presentation materials in collaboration with stakeholders.  
  • Experience assisting with institutional onboarding processes.
Starting Salary:
Anticipated Salary; $52,820 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
