  • Salary range for Registered Nurses- $65,840.24 - $104,150.85
  • Evening Shift Differential- $2.45 per hour
  • Night Shift Differential- $3.30 per hour

Provide nursing care in the GI Specialty clinic in Taubman Center. Ability to float within the department, as needed.
Provide telephone triage, patient teaching, direct patient care, documentation with follow-up and coordination with ancillary services and related departments.
Provide functional supervision to allied health staff.
Assist with patient flow as necessary and appropriate.
Maintain accurate and timely files of patients.
Work with the physicians to develop and carry out clinical standards of care for various patient diagnoses.

Required Qualifications*
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
Minimum of two (2) years RN experience (within last three (3) years) caring for diverse adult medical specialty patient population
NOTE: Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Desired Qualifications*
RN experience working with GI patients
Two (2) years (within last 5 years) experience with electronic lab monitoring for patients on immunosuppressive medications
Demonstrated experience with IV infusion ordering and monitoring
BSN desired
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as, interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, problem solve, delegate effectively and to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated computer proficiency
Demonstrated critical thinking skills in the provision of clinical care to patients

Work Schedule
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Days, Monday through Friday, flexibility required
Location: Michigan Medicine - Ambulatory Care, Internal Medicine: Gastroenterology Clinic, Taubman Center

Note: This position is a float position within the IM/GI clinic at Taubman Center.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
