Job Description

The Campus School Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting the Special Education Teacher with the management of appropriate educational, therapeutic and health care services for each student in the classroom, as indicated in the Individualized Education Program.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for assisting the Special Education Teacher with the implementation of Individualized Education Program for each student in the classroom

Attend transdisciplinary team meetings or other pertinent meetings relevant to implementing students' Individualized Education Program and attend in-service trainings

Responsible for following daily classroom schedules and specific programs for group and individual activities for each student as directed by Special Education Teacher

Assist Special Education Teacher with organization and maintenance of classroom and therapeutic
supplies and equipment

Assist, lift and transport students who have physical disabilities

Accompany students to therapy sessions as needed

Communicate effectively with students, staff and staff

Share in teaching in the classroom setting and development of curriculum materials.

Observe classroom settings covering ages 3-21.

Support the mission of the Boston College Campus School

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in education or related field and experience working with students with multiple disabilities preferred.
