Stanford University has an immediate opening for a full-time Student Financial Success Administrator in Student Financial Services (SFS), a unit within Student & Academic Services. SFS is a spirited office that manages all student receivables and partners with student service departments to ensure student financial records are accurate, accessible, and understandable for all and that we offer the easiest and best payment options for students and their families. This position is integral to creating a welcoming and helpful space for the students, staff, and vendors we serve and will work actively to promote collaboration with all key support systems for Stanford student staff with a strong student-orientation focus.

Student & Academic Services (SAS) is an integral part of the division of Student Affairs and centers its work on supporting every student, faculty member, and academic and student affairs staff member on campus. In this role, you will:
  • Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the goals of the program.
  • Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures specific to SFS's role in Student Success Initiatives in the Student Affairs division (Mind Over Money Financial Literacy initiatives, VPSA mission, vision, and goals)
  • Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
  • Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences. This includes: presenting about student finances to the campus, students and their families, scheduling training sessions about the student financial account and any system touchpoints.
  • Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function. Collaborate with the Student Financials Business Analyst for data collection and analysis to make recommendations to accomplish SFS Student Success goals.
  • May perform limited forecasting and provide recommendations that determine the budget.
  • May direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments. May also supervise staff or recruit, train and supervise student assistants.


To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • A bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with students and other constituents in a warm and professional manner
  • Creativity, resourcefulness, initiative, discernment, and a high degree of motivation is required
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant subject matter knowledge.
  • Ability to direct the work of others

Working Conditions: May work extended hours during peak business cycles.
