Responsibilities:
The Network Science Institute (NetSI) at Northeastern University is seeking an individual to fulfill the role of Senior Grants Administrator. The Network Science Institute is a multi-disciplinary collection of labs with a shared research mission, (see www.networkscienceinstitute.org) with a community of Network Science PhD students, housed in a common office space, and supported by joint intellectual and data infrastructure.
NetSI is seeking a Senior Grants Administrator who will perform work activities in a fast paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment. The GA will be expected to provide monthly reports of Institute expenditures, as well as work closely with all of the Institute faculty to manage and track expenses, monitor accounts for accuracy of charges, identify and manage deadlines, and prepare journal entries when needed. The responsibilities for this position include the following grant pre-award and post-award activities:

Prior experience in an academic setting with grant preparation and management experience is preferred. We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of Federal/University grant operations, rates, and regulations, strong computer skills, including, but not limited to, advanced experience with Excel or other budgeting software. Analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects are a key component of this position. Must possess the ability to thrive in a busy, high-volume, and deadline driven team environment that requires coordination of multiple activities and the judgment and flexibility to reprioritize tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree is required. Advanced degree in Public Administration, Business or related fields is preferred.
2. Proficiency in writing; excellent verbal and written communication.
3. Minimum of five to seven years of experience of directly related experience in a research environment.
4. Ability to read financial reports and ability to use spreadsheet and financial applications software is required.
5. Familiarity/experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, cooperative agreements and clinical trials.
6. Solid knowledge of proposal processing, requirements and regulations with granting institutions such as NSF, NIH, and DOE.
7. Excellent computer, organizational, communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting, able to successfully work with multiple acadmic Colleges/Department in an interdisciplinary environment.
9. Must be able to handle confidential material.
