Position Summary
Fordham University's Senior Graphic Designer will bring the Fordham brand voice to life using print and digital media platforms.

The Senior Graphic Designer works closely with Development and University Relations staff members, editors, and project managers to conceive, layout, and produce designs for recruitment campaigns, alumni events, appeal packages, proposals, brochures, newsletters, event collateral, websites, web support graphics, emails, and other collateral materials used throughout the University.

The Senior Graphic Designer must be skilled at designing print and digital templates for recurring products, and then implementing those templates. The Senior Graphic Designer must also be flexible and creative enough to develop "one-off" products to advance cultivation and stewardship initiatives.

The Senior Graphic Designer reports to the Director of Creative Services and consults with other members of the Marketing team about design issues.



Essential Functions
  • Conceptualizes and designs visually compelling communication pieces, in print and digital formats, that help DAUR colleagues meet the Universitys recruiting, fundraising and alumni engagement goals. This includes research; brainstorming with clients, writers, and other designers; communicating with outside vendors; photo research; layout; and revision.
  • Produces multiple projects ranging in size and scope simultaneously.
  • Assists in the creation of visual aspects of marketing materials including emails, banners, landing pages.
  • Brands events and programs and applies that branding to multichannel communications meant to attract engagement and support.
  • Oversees printing and production processes to ensure optimal quality.
  • Ability to create animation sequences, edit videos, and create motion graphics.





Required Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 4-7 years of directly related experience.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, visual); ability to propose ideas across teams, and contextualize multiple ideas in relation to one another.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Keynote) and Powerpoint.
  • Strong print design skills, from conception to execution.
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress, HTML, and CSS.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in print design and production and their application to communication strategies.
  • A self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and handle a high volume of work, taking ownership and following up on projects through to completion.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing projects on deadline.
  • Creativity, collaboration, and excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to learn and champion Fordhams Jesuit and Catholic mission and identity.





Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in graphic design or related field.
