Position Description
Performs routine pre-award and/or post-award sponsored programs activities associated with management and oversight of the life cycle of awards.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Assist PFM establish sponsored projects and related budgets in the university's financial system, maintain project files, and attend PI meetings. Perform close-out procedures for sponsored projects including confirmation of accurate accounting records, indexing documents in Xtender, facilitating non-financial reports, and closing cost share funds.
  • Monitor/process accting rcds for compliance & accuracy (managing FI144/HR115 questions) including fund balances, project budgets, direct/indirect charges, & sub-invoices to include coordination with the PI/dept/ORS and complete assigned comp reviews.
  • Assist with coordination of needs for billing and reporting as needed internally and follow-up for PI technical reports upon sponsor notification externally.
  • Administer comprehensive post-award support of university sponsored projects and collaborate between institutional constituents (primarily principal investigator and college/department staff) to gain efficiencies, enhance information systems, and provide excellent customer service using best practice techniques for managing sponsored projects.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 1 year experience OR combination of education and experience to equal 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in research administration (including Federal regulations and institutional policy), fund accounting, working with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and working in TTU specific systems (Banner, FiTS, TechBuy, BRS, Cognos, etc.). Experience delivering customer service both in person and via email/phone. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Business-related degree, CPA or candidate, CRA/CFRA/CPRA or candidate.
