Position Summary:
Establishment of Department Pool for Affiliate/Part-Time Instructors of Mathematics for the DIME program in Detroit. Qualified applicants will be placed in the departmental pool and will be considered for affiliate/part-time departmental needs beginning Fall 2019 to Spring 2022.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Teach two to nine credit hours. Courses to be taught are MTH 1080, Mathematics for Liberal Arts, a liberal arts mathematics course and /or supplemental instruction sessions associated with this course.

Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, usually on a semester by semester basis. Affiliate Faculty members are not eligible for benefit coverage under the Universitys benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. An Affiliate Faculty members duties include: meeting assigned classes or delivering on-line content consistent with University, College, School, and Department policies; providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if appropriate, being available, either face-to-face or electronically, to students in assigned classes to provide additional academic support as needed and as appropriate for the teaching assignment; and complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.

Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Mathematics or related field with at least 18 hours of graduate mathematics content credit.

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in Mathematics or related field with at least 18 hours of graduate mathematics content credit and teaching experience is desirable
