Description
We are seeking a qualified instructor to teach an introductory course in manual machining during the fall term.
Part-Time, Temporary Contract
Hours: 8:00-12:20 M-Th or some fraction.
Starts September 30th and continues for 11 weeks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Infrequently may be required to move equipment or materials weighing over 75 lbs. with assistance from other personnel or lifting equipment such as hoists or forklift.
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work location subjects incumbent to Welding fumes, Welding flash, and lubricants and coolants used in metal cutting. Exposure to mist from grinders and smoke from welding and machining operations is frequent. The noise level in the work area is louder than typically found of most office environments. Hearing protection is recommended, but not required. Safety glasses are required at all times on the shop floor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the general supervision of the Department chair.
