JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Assist maintenance staff with various tasks including pressure washing, furniture construction, washing vehicles, and litter collection.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist the maintenance department with: Moving furniture. Moving supplies, Assisting in the warehouse. Cleaning motor pool vehicles. Trash removal. Support of other various Campus Services functions. Painting. Small repairs.

AUXILIARY FUNCTIONS:
May provide assistance to other department personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

Qualifications
Willingness to work inside and outside as necessary. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Licensed and insurable driver.

Flexible hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. Duties are physically demanding requiring coordination and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Movement of materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds consumes over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as hand tools, power tools, and computers. Work is occasionally performed in restricted and secured spaces such as: boiler rooms, construction areas, utility service tunnels and similar or on high lifts and booms, scaffolds, and other devices. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties take place inside and outside of buildings with exposure to dirt, oil, loud and continuous noise, chemicals, hazardous materials, limited access areas, heights, and all types of weather conditions on a year round basis. Requires use of variety of protective gear including, but not limited to, respirator protection, knee pads, safety glasses, hardhat, and gloves.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general supervision of the Director, Campus Services.
