Job Summary
Provides front line customer service for students, faculty, staff, and community patrons. Coordinates activities, personnel, and statistics for stacks maintenance, course reserves, and resource sharing processing. Direct supervisor of all student assistants employed by the Library System.

Responsibilities
1. Performs all duties expected of a Library Assistant

2. Direct supervisor of student assistants employed by the Library System including recruiting, hiring, training, supervision, management, scheduling, reviews, and employee discipline

3. Works with other units on campus including Human Resources and the Federal Work Study Program and complies with established University guidelines for student employment

4. Acts as coordinator, project manager, and supervisor for either stacks maintenance, resource sharing, or course reserves functional areas

5. Utilizes and troubleshoots appropriate software and hardware necessary for coordination of assigned functional area such as Illiad, Alma, Atlas Ares, SharePoint, etc.

6. Trains other staff in duties for assigned functional area (stacks maintenance, resource sharing, course reserves)

7. Complies with all University, USG, or other policies and procedures including copyright law for all activities

8. Assists with the development of Library System policies and procedures for assigned functional area

9. Communicates and coordinate with KSU or USG students, faculty, staff, or community members on activities for assigned functional area

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Associate's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Required Experience
Two (2) years of related customer service or office support experience

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Preferred Experience
Previous experience in an academic library, public library, or media center

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Able to deal with multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of library systems and/or resources

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
