The Department of Economics in the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for one or more full-time tenure-track positions at the Assistant and/or Associate Professor level starting in the 2019-20 academic year. We are especially interested in applied macroeconomic researchers with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring who can teach courses in international economics as well as in macroeconomics or quantitative methods. Position
The successful candidate must demonstrate teaching and research ability in applied macroeconomics or international economics. Responsibilities of faculty include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses according to the needs of the department; contributing to both graduate and undergraduate programs, including supervision of undergraduate and graduate research; and publishing research in quality peer-reviewed journals. Positive tenure and promotion decisions require excellent teaching, scholarly and creative activities which result in publication of high-quality refereed journal articles, and service to the department, college, university, and community.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Economics or a related field from an accredited institution. ABD's may apply but must show evidence that the degree will be completed by the appointment date.
  • Demonstrate research potential as evidenced by research papers or a record of publications and ongoing research in the areas mentioned above.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness or strong teaching potential.
  • Possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, staff, colleagues, and community.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Rank and Salary
The position is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure-track. Salary is competitive and commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications. Summer research grants, start-up funds, moving expenses, and a reduced teaching load may be available.
