SUMMARY:
The Instructor is a non-tenure track 9 month position. The position may be expected to provide instruction in one or more of the following areas: Financial Accounting, Managerial/Cost Accounting; Auditing; Accounting Information Systems or any other courses subject to department needs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide instruction at the undergraduate level
Teach up to five undergraduate courses
Prepare syllabi and update course materials
Advise and/or mentor undergraduate students
Develop curriculum for new and/or existing undergraduate programs
Deliver instruction both online and/or on any of the university campuses (Commerce or Dallas-area)
Teach (as needed) during the day and/or in the evening
Work cooperatively with others in the department, college, university, profession and community
Contribute service to the department, college, university, profession and community
Contribute to the facilitation of a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and ability to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: MSA or MBA degree with an emphasis in Accounting from an AACSB accredited university or a combination of graduate degrees in law and accounting from an AACSB accredited program (to include at least 18 hours of graduate level accounting).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Two (2) years of experience working as an accountant for a public accounting firm, industry, or with a governmental entity. One (1) or more of the following designations: CPA, CFE, CIA, CMA, EA, or CFF. Commitment to effective teaching. Experience teaching classes online courses or in a hybrid format. Experience engaging students with synchronous and asynchronous communication in an online learning environment. Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
