Implementation Analyst

Synopsis of Role:
The Implementation Analyst will be responsible for assisting all Finance implementation of system enhancements and upgrades, implementation of any new systems and or products, as well helping to identify and document areas of process improvement. The Implementation Analyst will be responsible for diagramming current process flow, identifying areas in need of improvement, and capturing future process flows. This position will provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Essential Functions:

  • Supports all aspects of Finance system implementations.
  • Identifies gaps in functionality and work. with IT to improve our products/process.
  • Develops, tracks, and reports key implementation progress metrics.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and IT resources for testing, documentation of changes, and project management.
  • Coordinates efforts with internal team members to meet deadlines and perform proper testing and project task execution.
  • Maintains a deep understanding of the Finance Systems for both APUS and any shared service partners in APEI.
  • Coordinates and schedule user acceptance testing (UAT) Meetings, testing plans, and preparation meetings with IT.
  • Assists with user acceptance testing of IT related projects to include testing, compiling and reporting issues, and training to various teams on new enhancements and upgrades.
  • Assists on research and reporting of service requests to Manager, Finance Systems Support.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) and Department of Education guidelines in daily processing.
  • Builds and update product and training documentation.
  • Completes special Projects as assigned.
Work Environment:
  • Standard office environment in Charles Town, WV.
  • Overtime and weekend hours, as needed.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact with students and APUS/APEI staff in a positive and professional manner.
  • Acquiring and maintaining job and professional knowledge: staying abreast of the latest technology and knowledge, best practices, and other developments in the employee's area of competence.
  • Ability to understand policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, understanding finance, and technology terminology.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Proficient in process diagramming.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in Finance.
  • Experience in Great Plains preferred.
  • Experience with Windows based applications (specifically Excel).
