Job Summary

Provides administration support to assigned department and post-award administration for various grants activities to ensure that grants are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements. Processes procurement and HR requests for externally funded grants and/or contracts following university policies and procedures. Builds and maintains partnering relationships with internal stakeholders and assigned departments.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for an assigned departmental grant award portfolio
2. Assists and supports Faculty (PIs) with submission of required progress reports to sponsors
3. Advises on applicable policies and procedures for grant related travel, human resources, procurement, and compliance
4. Analyzes budgetary activity and advises PIson mechanisms for, and allowability of budget modifications and/or no-cost extensions
5. Reconciles grants and monitors rate of expenditures on a monthly basis and reports department leaders
6. Collaborates with Grants & Contracts Managers for review of grant related purchases
7. Responsible for the department's Purchasing Card (Pcard) and assists with electronic purchasing system processes
8. Processes all procurement, reimbursement and hiring requests

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Required Experience
Two (2) years related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
Experience with grant and contract policies of Federal, state, and private sponsors
Experience with Cayuse or other electronic grants management system

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $36,175 to $45,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge and understanding of relevant policies and/procedures that govern major federal and non-federal sponsors
Understanding of research administration roles and responsibilities for internal and external resources

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
