Overview
The Entrepreneurship program in the Department of Management at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications from a diverse group of qualified applicants for a tenure track position in Entrepreneurship beginning August 2020. Rank is open. Successful candidates will join a growing, dynamic Entrepreneurship program and academic department and be committed to innovative teaching, scholarship and student success. As a part of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration (JHBC), the Entrepreneurship program serves approximately 300 students in an undergraduate concentration, minor program, MBA concentration, MS in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and multiple collaborative degrees, minor and certificate programs with other academic departments on campus. The Entrepreneurship program is part of the Management department, which serves more than 1,300 students.

The Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration (JHBC), which is accredited by AACSB and the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA), consists of five academic departments: Accounting and Finance, Information and Decision Science, Management, Marketing, and Public Administration.

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is located in San Bernardino in the Inland Empire, 60 miles east of Los Angeles and operates a satellite campus in Palm Desert located in Coachella Valley. CSUSB serves approximately 20,000 students, of which 81% are first-generation college students, and graduates about 5,000 students annually. As a designated Hispanic Serving Institution, CSUSB reflects the dynamic diversity of the region and has one of the most diverse student populations of any university in the Inland Empire, and the second-highest Hispanic enrollment of all public universities in California. CSUSB employs 467 full-time faculty and offers 48 undergraduate, 35 graduate, and 1 doctoral degree programs and 14 academic programs with national accreditation.

Typical Activities
Expectations for the position include innovative teaching of Entrepreneurship courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and significant participation in program development and leadership. Preferred candidates will be expected to meet the traditional requirements of excellence in teaching, active scholarly and professional work, and service to the University and community. We are seeking candidates who have a passion for teaching Entrepreneurship and a willingness to mentor and coach students. Candidates must also have a strong interest and skills that enable them to participate in building curriculum, developing innovative academic and experiential programs, taking on leadership roles within the Entrepreneurship program/Management department, developing and maintaining relationships with the local business community and working on various projects and activities in the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE). It is also expected that the person filling this position will play an active role in maintaining student engagement, advisement of students in the Entrepreneurship program, and serving on department, college and university-wide committees, and support University, JHBC, and Management strategic goals, which include student success and partnerships with the community to enhance the social, economic, and cultural conditions of the region and beyond.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.
In addition, new faculty are encouraged to develop and participate in activities that support the University's strategic plan. This plan emphasizes: a) student success; b) faculty and staff success; c) stewarding resources; d) community engagement and partnerships; and, e) enhancing the campus identity. Minimum Qualifications
An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in the area of Entrepreneurship or a closely-related field (e.g. Strategic Management, Management) is required by time of appointment.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience, teaching and publication record in the area of Entrepreneurship with a minimum of one semester as an instructor, one peer-reviewed journal article, and two years of professional (non-academic) work experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Priority will be given to those candidates who (a) have significant prior professional or business experience in the field; (b) substantive teaching experience in Entrepreneurship; (c) have demonstrated teaching excellence and evidence of publication record or a promising stream of research; and (d) have a history, aptitude, and desire to build academic and Center-based programs.

3) If available, evidence of teaching effectiveness such as teaching portfolios, reports on teaching observations, and/or student evaluations of teaching.

5) Reference List - names, telephone numbers, and email addresses of three (3) referees whom we may contact to obtain letters of recommendation.

6) A Diversity Statement, which may include your interpretation of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and must include specific examples of how your background and your educational and/or professional experiences have prepared you for this role at California State University, San Bernardino (maximum 1,000 words).
