Early Childhood Specialist (Assistant Teachers)
ECEAP, Toddler, and Preschool Classrooms


Do you love working with children? Do you have experience and training in child development or early childhood education? Everett Community College is accepting applications for Assistant Teachers for our Early Learning Center.

In this position, you will assist a Lead Teacher in implementing a culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate curriculum and environment that meets state licensing andnationalaccreditation standards. Activities include supervising children indoors and outdoors, assisting at meals and naptimes, preparing and presenting projects to children and effectively supporting their participation and development throughout the day, as well as maintaining a healthy and safe environment throughout the Early Learning Center.

Requirements:
Two years of experience working in an early childhood program, a CDA, or a minimum of 12 college credits in child development/early childhood education/education/special education.
Valid CPR/First Aid Card, Blood borne Pathogens Training, Food Handler's permit, 30 hours of initial STARS training, or willingness to acquire these at your own expense upon acceptance of the position.
Ability to stay in compliance with all licensing and NAEYC accreditation requirements.
Ability to exercise sensitivity in dealing with individuals of diverse socio-economic backgrounds, cognitive and physical abilities as well as with individuals of diverse cultural ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to pass a DSHS Criminal History and Background Inquiry and provide a record of tuberculin skin test results.

Preferred:
A 60 creditECEcertificate, or an Associate or higher degree in any discipline, with a minimum of 18 quarter credits in child development/early childhood education/education/special education and a relevant field-based experience in an accredited early learning program.
Knowledge of family support practices, multicultural competence and experience working with a diverse population.
Special expertise and experience in Reggio philosophy, social emotional learning, nature education, art, music or movement.
Competence using computers and digital photography.
Commitment to reflective practice and further professional development.

$2,120.00 to $2732.00 per month plus benefits
Schedule is typically 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week during the school year. The ELC is open from 7:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and has 1 or 2 evening events per month.
