Responsibilities:

The Director of Financial Aid for the College of Professional Studies is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of financial aid including the application and awarding processes for institutional, federal, state and private funding, ensuring compliance with institutional, federal and state policies/regulations, and delivering the highest level of student and parent financial counseling services for students in the College of Professional Studies and Graduate Day programs. The Director serves as a member of the Student Financial Services management team and assists the Senior Director of Financial Aid and the Dean in management, compliance and training needs. The Director serves as the primary contact and liaison with Student Financial Services; Student Accounts; EMSA Contact Center; Registrar; Undergraduate, Graduate and CPS Admissions offices.

Responsibilities include:

Work with Graduate schools, CPS, and the Office of Enrollment Management to ensure the University's enrollment and retention goals.

Hire, train, and supervise the College of Professional Studies Financial Aid Counselors and the office's Financial Aid Assistants. Train staff within Student Financial Services on policies and procedures relating to the administration and processing of financial aid for College of Professional Studies students.

As needed, advise and counsel undergraduate and graduate students/families on the availability of financial aid, the delivery process for receiving it, and the reconciliation process required to insure that the financial aid funds are transferred to student accounts. Review student applications, perform verification procedures, review/evaluate appeals and intercede for students with participating departments (deans, student accounts, admissions, and registrar).

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree required. Masters Degree preferred. At least 5-10 years working in a professional financial aid position. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with specific deadlines to accomplish tasks. Must have the ability to multi-task, be organized, and work independently. Must have a high level of customer service skills and attention to detail. Experience using PowerFAIDS preferred.
