Description

This is a part-time faculty pool for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on department need. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.

Work closely with Customized Training staff to deliver training to incumbent workers based on employer expectations. This may involve curriculum development or course modification. Employee may also initiate new business contacts to develop long-term business partnerships, conduct needs assessments to identify training and developmental opportunities, provide project management for delivery of workforce development services to businesses, and write proposals and contracts for new and ongoing business relationships.

Training delivery can occur at any hour or on any day of the week. Training may occur at a campus or off-campus location, including employer sites; most often within Clackamas County. Training delivery details are often negotiated with the part-time faculty instructor and the client.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Deliver training, instruction, mentoring, or coaching ranging from soft skills (leadership, supervision, conflict resolution, career development, lean training, etc.) to technical skills (print reading, CNC machine operator, welding, etc.).

Identify and assess workforce training needs, develop industry workforce solution packages, and lead/implement/expedite training delivery based on employer identified needs.

Design and develop curriculum, assess student performance, and administer course surveys.

Collaborate with clients to establish training logistics.

May meet regularly with employers and key industry consortia as identified and coordinated by the Customized Training team to establish long term professional relationships with Clackamas Community College.

Participate in departmental and college wide meetings as necessary

Initiate and maintain professional cooperative working relationship with College staff, other organizations, and the public.

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with college policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.

Follow all safety rules and procedures for work areas.

Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

AUXILIARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Ability to modify or create curriculum. Ability to communicate very effectively with college staff (Customized Training, Department Chairs, other faculty/staff), employers (CEO's, Human Resources staff, training staff, supervisors), and students.

MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and documented track record of training employees. Subject matter expert in the area of training. Industry recognized/appropriate degrees and/or certificates.
In some areas, particularly business, a Master's in Business Administration or equivalent is required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES:

Valid Driver's License acceptable in the State of Oregon.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITIONS:

While performing the duties of these positions, the employee is frequently required to sit, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility including the ability to move materials. These positions may move materials less than five (5) pounds, but occasionally may move boxes of training material up to sixty (60) pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required for a limited amount of work time including equipment associated with smart classrooms (computer, document reader, projection units, etc.).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Classroom and occasionally shop floor locations with noise levels often associated with those environments.

Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general direction of the Business and Industry Training Manager.
