Job Summary/Basic Function:
Everett Community College has an opening for a part-time instructor to teach introductory programming and C++ and/or Java programming. This position reports to the Dean of Math & Science.

The instructor will:
- Prepare and teach one or more of the following courses: Introduction to Programming, Computer Science I (C++ and/or Java), Computer Science II (C++ and/or Java).
- Facilitate student learning by using a variety of lecture, discussion, laboratory, demonstration, technology-based, and collaborative formats.
- Identify and implement procedures/techniques to assess individual student learning, as well as achievement of course, program, and college learning outcomes.
- Assist students in the Computer Science and Engineering programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- Desire to become an effective teacher
- Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for, effectively instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion

Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience teaching C++ and/or Java programming at the college level
- A philosophy of education appropriate to the community college
