Job Summary:
  • We are currently seeking an Assistant Director of Facilities Services. This position reports to the Director of Facilities Services under the Facilities and Planning Division and is responsible for the operations, supervision and financial management of the following units: Custodial Services, Landscape Maintenance, Transportation Services, Fuel Farm, Waste Management/Recycling, Auto Shop, Office of Sustainability & Business & Finance Fleet. Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and 3 to 5 years experience in Facilities Services including supervision, financial management and work order management systems or minimum 7 years of experience in Facilities Services including supervision, financial management and work order management systems will substitute for education requirement.
  • Demonstrated excellent consultative, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Demonstrated excellent management, organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with a computerized work order management system such as, Assetworks, AIM and Mitchel 1 Manager SE.
  • Working in higher education, hospital, healthcare, or other educational type setting.

Report to the Director of Facilities Services on issues of concern or needed coordination within the department. Support the Director by providing timely, accurate and professionally written and oral reports. Respond to requests from the Director of Facilities Services, AVP and University Administration. Develop and promote a team concept with outcome based results for the department in coordination with other university units.

Review and update department goals, work rules, unit procedures and controls for operations. Overall supervision of staff members and units under their direct supervision within Facilities Services.

Assist staff with tools to be a successful employee. Responsible for maintaining an inclusive working environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Demonstrates value of cultural, ethnic, gender and other individual differences in people. Perform annual evaluations for subordinate staff assigned to them within the pre-determined deadlines.

Conditions of Employment:
  • This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.

Salary Information: $65,000 $75,000
