Assistant Professor
Fall 2021
The Department of Child and Adolescent Studies at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2021. The area of developmental specialty is open, but preference will be given to scholars who will expand departmental expertise and contribute to the department's mission to prepare undergraduate students broadly for careers working with children, adolescents, and/or families from diverse backgrounds. Of strong interest are areas of expertise such as the role of race/ethnicity, inequalities, and cultural context in development; elementary school settings; and advocacy/policy that advances the health, development, and well-being of children and/or families that have been historically marginalized in the United States.

Candidates from groups underrepresented in the professoriate, committed to the success of a very diverse undergraduate student population, and interested in joining department colleagues as they continue efforts focused on equity and inclusion are strongly encouraged to apply.
The primary professional responsibilities of these instructional faculty members are: teaching at the undergraduate level; research, scholarship, and/or creative activity; service to the university, college, department, profession, and community. These responsibilities generally include: participating in department and campus-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participating in traditional academic functions.
