Job Description

The School of Education (SOE) at Nevada State College (NSC) invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of School Psychology to begin Fall 2022.

About the School of Education at NSC

The Mission of the SOE is to prepare educators and speech language pathologists to support children, youth, and adults by utilizing evidence-based approaches and providing high quality field and clinical experiences. We are committed to promoting:
  • Creative, critical, reflective, responsive, and collaborative professionals
  • High quality research and evidence-based practices
  • Cultural, linguistic, physical, and cognitive diversity
  • Justice, equity, and inclusivity
  • Partnerships with families, PK-12, higher education, and the community
  • Civic engagement and advocacy

Our SOE is an exciting place to be. More than 600 undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate students are pursuing licensure programs in elementary, special, & secondary education as well as speech-language pathology. In response to a statewide shortage of K-12 educators, NSC has made a strong commitment to building out the School of Education (SOE). In the Fall 2021, the SOE moved into the newly constructed Christenson Education Building (CEB). The CEB is a premier facility that includes an array of formal and informal learning spaces, cutting-edge technology, an Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC), and a Speech-Language Pathology Clinic. Enrollments continue to grow with 900 undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate students pursuing various licensure programs. In response to a statewide shortage of PreK-12 educators, NSC has made a strong commitment to building out the SOE. New academic programs in the past three years include the MA in Speech-Language Pathology, BA with dual licensure in EC and ECSE, and an Elementary Education/Bilingual Education dual licensure program. The impending launch of an Ed.S in School Psychology will address a key workforce gap in Nevada.
