Advanced Manufacturing - Associate Faculty (Pool Posting)

Job Summary/Basic Function:
This posting is to build a pool of qualified Associate (part-time) instructors to teach classes in Advanced Manufacturing at EvCC. Applicants will be contacted as openings occur.

The successful candidate will possess a combination of technical and professional experiences that demonstrate the ability to:
- impart excitement and enthusiasm into the teaching of advanced manufacturing;
- adapt to a variety of teaching situations including a wide range of student abilities and preparedness; and
- successfully interact with supervisors and staff as part of an educational team.

The ideal candidate will be expected to participate in ongoing professional development related to industry certification and accreditation of the program.

This position will require the successful candidate to apply for and maintain WA State vocational teaching certification. Standards include, but are not limited to, advanced degrees/credentials, recent work experience beyond the initial learning experience, and competency in the vocational specialty, as well as current First Aid/CPR/AED. Documentation will be required upon hire.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher
- At least two years recent professional experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance
- Demonstrated leadership experience, and/or classroom experience
- Eligible for vocational certification
- Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for effectively instructing students across the range of diversity to include: cultures, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification

Preferred Qualifications:
- Machining Journey Level Certificate
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member, and community involvement with local machining groups and professional organizations
- A philosophy of education appropriate to a learning-centered community college
- Commitment to continued updating of skills and training; Involvement in professional and campus activities
