Administrative Support Associate

Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day administrative and confidential tasks of the Office of International Affairs (OIA).

a. arranging and scheduling meetings;
b. taking minutes at various meetings;
c. developing a variety of spreadsheets, reports, PowerPoint presentations, and other documents;
d. composing/drafting letters.

This position supports the OIA staff.

a. assist with the needs of study abroad and those for international student and scholar services, especially during orientations;
b. assist with all campus programming, especially during NCCU's International Festival and NCCU's participation in the worldwide celebration of International Education Week;
c. publicize OIA activities and events to the campus and community through different social media;
d. check website frequently and assist in updating OIA's webpage and other informational materials pertaining to the office.
e. expand the use of social media and online educational information to enhance the visibility of OIA on campus and in the community.

Minimum Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The position requires working knowledge of Student Banner and EaglesPurch and other systems at the university; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Applications; record management; assessing and evaluating programs; writing reports; and planning for special events and meetings. The administrative support associate must have the ability to work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; and to plan, prioritize and organize workflow. The position requires excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills, good editing skills; great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals.
