Description
This recruitment is being conducted to fill a temporary assignment and not being conducted to establish an eligibility list from which regular appointments will be made, as such this recruitment may close at any time. Employees hired in this capacity are considered at will and do not accrue property interest in the assignment and are not eligible for benefits.
There is currently one temporary part-time position (30 hr./week); Monday through Thursday, 2:00-8:00, and Friday, 8:00-2:00 located at the Oxnard College.
This pool may also be used to fill temporary vacancies at Moorpark & Ventura Colleges.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of technical and program support duties to support the Learning Resource Center. Provide operational oversight, and plan and organize activities within the center. Oversee the lab and tutoring areas, coordinate the circulation of Learning Resource equipment and materials, and provide instructional and technical assistance to students, faculty, and others. Additionally, support the computer lab by performing basic configurations, diagnosing basic malfunctions, conducting minor equipment repairs, and performing preventative maintenance to lab computers and equipment.

Oxnard College was founded in 1975 and is the newest of the three community colleges in the county. Set on 118 acres and located two miles from Pacific Ocean beaches, the college is easily accessible by the Ventura Freeway (Highway 101) or the Pacific Coast Highway.

Representative Duties
Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Learning Resource Center lab and tutoring areas; schedule use of facility, schedule and oversee staffing of facility, monitor student attendance, and prepare related reports; and assure policies and procedures are followed. E
Circulate a variety of Learning Resource equipment and materials to students and faculty; schedule computer use; and check out instructional materials following established policies and procedures. E
Assist students and staff in the operation of equipment, running programs, retrieving printouts, creating and formatting documents, and using computer applications, copiers, scanners, and printers. E
Interview, assess needs, and schedule students requesting tutorial services; coordinate with faculty to identify tutoring needs; and conduct student outreach to promote lab and tutoring services. E
Provide technical instruction and assistance to students, faculty, and others concerning print and non-print media and a variety of other types of information resources. E
Recruit, select, train, and provide work direction to student workers and/or tutors; schedule hours, monitor performance, prepare and maintain records including payroll. E
Perform minor and routine preventative maintenance and basic configurations on equipment such as computers, peripheral equipment, and audio-visual equipment; diagnose equipment malfunction; and process requests for major repairs. E
Order and maintain inventory of materials such as reserve materials, videos, books, periodicals, and any optional text materials; process, shelve, maintain, and inventory according to established policies and procedures. E
Perform a variety of clerical functions related to the Learning Resource Center, including typing of correspondence, requisition, flyers, etc. E
Prepare a variety of records, reports, and files. E
Assist with the implementation and monitoring of proctoring services; perform other general program support duties as needed.
Work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, and ethnic communities. E
Demonstrate cultural humility, sensitivity, and equity-mindedness in working with individuals from diverse communities; model inclusive behaviors; and achieve equity in assignment-related outcomes. E
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent AND four years of experience in learning resources, AND six months of experience in computer hardware and software operations or completion of 12 semester units (or 18 quarter units) of college-level coursework in Computer Science or related field.
OR
Associate degree or equivalent (60 semester or 90 quarter units from a recognized college or university) AND two years of experience in learning resources, AND six months of experience in computer hardware and software operations or completion of 12 semester units (or 18 quarter units) of college-level coursework in Computer Science or related field.OR
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university AND six months of experience in learning resources, AND six months of experience in computer hardware and software operations or completion of 12 semester units (or 18 quarter units) of college-level coursework in Computer Science or related field.
