Job Description

Our ABA program is designed for students seeking their BCBA credential. To be eligible for the BCBA credential, candidates must hold a graduate (Masters) degree, complete the requisite ABA coursework, and accrue supervised fieldwork hours. Applicants who already hold a graduate degree are eligible for our ABA Certificate program which consists of the seven core courses that meet BCBA exam eligibility requirements. Our Master of Arts in Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis also includes a Practicum course series that provides additional learning opportunities during students' fieldwork.
The School of Education & Human Development will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for future appointments to temporary, part time, non-tenure-track positions in the Applied Behavior Analysis Program. Lecturers are limited to two courses per term. CU Denver's ABA core courses are fully online, but have a required weekly synchronous online meeting. Course meetings are usually 6pm-8pm (MT), Mondays - Thursdays (exact meeting day depends on the specific course and semester).

CPE Instructor, ABA program
What you will do:
- The ABA program instructor is a leader in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, and has a history of behavior-analytic teaching, clinical work, and/or research. Instructors filling this position will teach master's level graduate students working towards their board-certified behavior analyst(R) credential.
- This role requires experience designing and implementing instruction for graduate students with diverse experiences related to the practice of behavior analysis (e.g., Registered Behavior Technicians(R), special education teachers).
Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Earned master's degree or higher in Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field
- Certified BCBA (via the Behavior Analyst Certification Board) - current
- Teaching experience (at the undergraduate or graduate level)
Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
- Doctorate in Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis or related field
- Experience working with culturally minoritized children's families in schools or clinical settings
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ethical and professional conduct considerations required for practicing ABA.
- Commitment to social justice and conceptualizing the ABA practitioner as an advocate
- Evidence of understanding of mental health professions that serve clients with special needs.
- Evidence of knowledge of collecting and interpreting data as well as the importance of making data-driven decisions specifically for ABA.
Conditions of Employment
- This position will teach online courses, each course will have a 1x/week required zoom class meeting. Class times are generally between 6-8pm (MT) but may vary slightly based on instructor availability.
- This position is fully remote, and the candidate can work anywhere in the United States, although we would welcome an in-office presence.
Mental, Physical, and/or Environmental Requirements
The ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work; often requiring minimal lifting, but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $5,000 for a fully enrolled course.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is/is not eligible for overtime compensation.
