Salary range for Registered Nurses- $65,840.24 - $104,150.85

    Responsibilities*
    This is a dual unit position with primary responsibility to the Cancer Center Adult Infusion Area. The RN may work in both the Cancer Center Adult Infusion area and/or the Ravitz Cancer Center Research Unit depending on patient acuity and census.The Infusion Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care, including patient education and the management of chemotherapy administration.The Registered Nurse (RN) supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family; assesses the needs of the patient undergoing chemotherapy treatment; plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; and teaches patients, families, orients colleagues and peers.

    The RN administers injections, IV hydration, blood products, and chemotherapy.The RN will be required to work in any of Adult Infusion and may be moved throughout the day due to patient acuity and census.

    Nursing Specific Info
    Salary & Nursing Framework Level:This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.     Required Qualifications*
    Current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan

    Two (2) years or more of RN experience

    Two (2) or more years of recent experience administering chemotherapy

    Two (2) or more years of recent hematology/oncology RN experience

    NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment

    Desired Qualifications*
    Recent Ambulatory Care Experience

    Certification by OCN

    Demonstrated ability to start IVs

    BSN preferred

    Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC. Computer/typing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel

    Work Schedule
    Hours: 40 hrs/wk

    Shift: Day/Evening rotation; hours will vary; Monday-Friday with occasional holidays and occasional Saturdays.

    Location: University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center - Adult Infusion and CCRU as needed. Home unit will be Adult Infusion.

    All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

    This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
