Head Coach Adjunct/Part-time

The San Jose-Evergreen Community College District is seeking a Head Coach for Soccer (part-time/adjunct)
Head Coaching Duties:
Must be able to provide leadership, management, and strategic planning for the soccer program. This includes budgeting, fundraising, staffing, and staff development, supervision of program implementation, facilities planning and management, and evaluation of program effectiveness.
Actively promote, publicize, and enhance a positive image for Evergreen Valley College.
Determine budget requirements for maintaining and developing the soccer program. Control spending and monitor the budget.
Responsible for the on-going management, supervision, and development of the soccer coaching staff. Conduct annual performance evaluations of staff.
Developing fundraising opportunities for the men/women's soccer program, and other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Academic Duties
Effectively coordinate the recruitment of student-athletes within EVC admission standards and policies established by the College and the CCCAA.
A major role is mentoring of student-athletes; including academic support and advisement and providing life skills training.
Monitor player academics including student welfare and encouraging academic excellence
Responsible for the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, and program development in order to produce successfully performing athletes.
Administrative Duties:
Manage the soccer program by planning and coordinating all practices, workouts and competitions; ensuring that all College, conference and CCCAA rules and regulations are followed including student-athlete eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling and academic progress; managing the programs operating budget through procurement request and travel reimbursements; supervising assistant soccer coaches.
Organize and conduct camps; develop fundraising opportunities: serve on committees that promote the success of the program and athletics; establish and maintain community contacts that enhance the success of the program.
Participates in professional activities and associations of college soccer coaches.
Manages the men's soccer budget with integrity
On the Field Coaching Duties:
The primary purpose of this position is to coach student-athletes including coaching team practices and games, developing student-athlete skills, building understanding of the game, game preparation, strategy, teamwork and conditioning.
Develops a successful program, including a positive win/loss record.
Directs and supervises all aspects of the men's soccer program, including organization and direction of team practices, game coaching, and other duties appropriate to the program.
Schedules games for the men's soccer program in conjunction with the scheduling coordinator within the guidelines of the CCCAA.
Develops and maintains discipline within the men's soccer program.
Is knowledgeable of, and adheres to, the rules and regulations of the CCCAA.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience
OR
Any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
Salary placement is based on candidate's verified education and experience.
Assignments may include day, evening and weekend responsibilities. This position is represented by the San Jose-Evergreen Community College District Federation of Teachers, AFT 6157.
